Ingredients
- 4 slices bread
- vegan butter
- 2-4 slices of Verdanya’s Akela sunny American or Provolone cheese (or use any Akela block cheese)
Instructions
Step 1
Heat frying pan on medium or medium high.
Step 2
Butter a slice of bread, place in frying pan butter side down, and place cheese on top. Butter the second slice of bread and place on top of the cheese, buttered side up.
Step 3
Place a couple ice cubes into your frying pan, to the side of the sandwich (make sure the sandwich won’t touch the melting ice cubes! Place a lid on top. The ice cubes will melt, making a steamy environment which melts the cheese perfectly!
Step 4
Flip the sandwich after a couple minutes. Place lid back on. Continue flipping a couple times as needed until the sandwich is golden, crispy, and the cheese is melted. Repeat for the other sandwich. Enjoy!
